Florida has one of the highest rates of uninsured in the nation, yet Gov. Rick Scott has rejected federal health care funds that would provide health care for thousands of Florida families who desperately need it. Now, we’ve learned that Gov. Scott only pays $360-per-year for his own health insurance1, coverage that is paid for by Florida taxpayers – including those who have no coverage at all.
Click here to sign our open letter to Gov. Scott demanding he answer this simple question:
“Gov. Scott, how can you justify having taxpayers pay for your health care while you oppose the same type of coverage for them?”
Gov. Scott continually attacks government supported health programs. He‘s one of the most outspoken critics of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which will improve health care access and quality of care for millions of Americans. And since taking office, he has done everything in his power to make it more difficult for average Floridians to get access to the same type of affordable health coverage he enjoys. When it comes to Rick Scott’s own health care, his rhetoric about the evils of taxpayer-subsidized health insurance no longer applies. It’s the height of hypocrisy, and that’s why we’re demanding he answer one simple question:
“Gov. Scott, how can you justify having taxpayers pay for your health care while you oppose the same type of coverage for them?”
Please sign our open letter to Gov. Scott demanding he answer this simple question. The more people who sign, the more likely that he will be forced to provide an answer to us, the people he’s supposed to represent.
For better health care for all,
Mark and the Progress Florida team
P.S.: Help us educate our fellow Floridians and urge them to call out Gov. Scott's health care hypocrisy by forwarding this email to five of your friends and family.
