Come Hear Baptist Hospital VP Explain Medicaid Cut Impact
Underfunding of Medicaid is the program topic.
Dutch Treat Dinner Gathering is the Event.
Tuesday, August 9, 6 pm is the date and time.
Ryan's Buffet, 4955 Hwy. 90, Pace (in front of Walmart) is the place.
First it was Congress slashing the appropriation to fund the states for Medicaid. Then it was the Florida Legislature that reduced and altered the reimbursements to hospitals. The result is Baptist and Sacred Heart Hospitals have had to trim their expenditures by millions of dollars.
The presenter will be Andy Terry, Vice President of Revenue Management, Baptist Health Care. He has been employed at Baptist 25 years and has extensive experience in Medicare/Medicaid guidelines. Baptist Health Care has provided benevolent health care for Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties for 60 years.
Andy Terry
Medicaid is the federal and state partnership that enables health services to the poorest and least among us. Under the new Florida law, private for profit hospitals are entitled to higher reimbursements than non-profit owned facilities.
Following the presentation, there will be a time for questions.
The hospital cost reimbursements to be presented cover cuts passed by Congress and the Florida Legislature prior to the budget cuts contained in the recently passed "Debt Ceiling" law. Mare cuts to Medicaid and Medicare will have to be resolved by the Super Committee by Thanksgiving.
The Program-dinner is sponsored by the Santa Rosa County Democratic Party and is open to the public. You need not be a Democrat to attend.
The cost of the all-you-can-eat buffet at Ryan's is $10.99 plus tax. Drinks are $1.99 with unlimited refills.
