The Santa Rosa County Democratic Executive Committee elected new Chair Deborah Nelson at last week’s meeting (shown here with Vice Chair Harold Webb).  Nelson concluded three terms as President of the League of Woman Voters of the Pensacola Bay Area on May 7.  As a longtime area journalist, Nelson is familiar with a range of local and state issues.  She currently co-hosts a local cable television news show, Santa Rosa Week, on Mediacom and YouTube.  Nelson holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in History.  “This last legislative session shows what a disaster our statewide Republican political monopoly has become for honest working Floridians.  It’s time for Democrats in this area to organize and make their voices heard,” Nelson remarked.  “It’s time for the people who pay for our government and have had to live with bad policy to take it back from the corrupt politicians and rich cronies who are currently running the show.”
